ScienceDirect數據庫上，SciVerse ScienceDirect數據庫平臺上的資源分為四大學科領域：自然科學與工程、生命科學、健康科學、社會科學與人文科學，涵蓋了24個學科。通過一個簡單直觀的界面，研究人員可以瀏覽2,500多種同行評審期刊，1000多萬篇HTML格式和PDF格式的文章全文。sciencedirect數據庫和pubmed數據庫,wiley數據庫等都是常用數據庫。
Elsevier每年出版大量的學術圖書和期刊，大部分期刊被SCI、SSCI、EI收錄，是世界上公認的高品位學術期刊。近幾年該公司將其出版的2,500多種期刊和11,000圖書全部數字化，即ScienceDirect全文數據庫，并通過網絡提供服務。該數據庫涉及眾多學科：計算機科學、工程技術、能源科學、環境科學、材料科學、數學、物理、化學、天文學、醫學、生命科學、商業、及經濟管理、社會科學等。
